TEACHING METHODS *** 2010 New Years Fun: Jan 1-3, Fri-Sun - KRIPALU Childrens' Music Workshops and 2010 Feb 15 - 19 : KIDS' Winter Fun (click on the above links for more details and information) 2009: KRIPALU summer Residency in the Berkshires! For kids and preteens ages 5- 12: In between swimming, hiking and listening to bird songs, kids create their own orchestra, build musical instruments, learn playing techniques, rhythm and improvisation games, and movement with music. At the end, they put on an ensemble performance, and everyone gets to take their instruments home! Learn Gamelan and Balinese monkey chant based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. July 5-10 - build percussion, winds and strings, compose and perform July 17-19 - childrens' musical improv group August 21 - 23 - "pre-Tangelwood" conductors and beginners ensemble August 28 - 31 - Gamelan Angklung and shadow puppets workshop Parents can take Yoga classes, workshops and healing sessions while their children learn musical skills! team teaching In 2005 David and Lisa collaborated with instrument builder Ken Butler on a teaching residency at the Avampato Discovery Museum in Charleston, WV sponsored by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
